The Ghazi Attack : The bilingual motion picture, which Johar displayed as India’s first war adrift film, will discharge in Hindi and Telugu on February 17. The plot is enlivened by a grouped mission of the Indian Navy and the sinking of the Pakistani submarine PNS Ghazi, off the shoreline of Visakhapatnam amid the 1971 Indo-Pak war. PNS Ghazi, initially USS Diablo, was rented from the United States in 1963 to be Pakistan’s first quick assault submarine. Right up ’til today, the submarine’s sinking remains a discussion and a puzzle in the archives of war.
The story is around an official maritime officer of the Indian Submarine S21 and his group who stay submerged for 18 days. The film investigates the puzzling conditions under which the PNS Ghazi sank off the shore of Visakhapatnam in 1971.  It is a submerged story of the boldness and patriotism of the men on board the Indian Submarine S-21 who demolished the Pakistani submarine PNS Ghazi when it wandered into Indian waters to decimate the INS Vikrant.

The film is being simultaneously made in Hindi and Telugu and will be dubbed in Tamil.PVP Cinema is producing the film Karan Johar will distribute the Hindi version. The music is composed by K.Visual Effects handled by Eva Motion Studios.

Casting

The film stars Rana Daggubati and Taapsee Pannu in the lead along with Kay Kay Menon,Satyadev Kancharana,Atul Kulkarni, Priyadarshi Pulikonda,Rahul Singh, Akshay Mittal, Malyaban Lahiri and Naren Yadav.

Filming

The film shooting started on 3 January 2016.
