Kaabil vs Raees: Hrithik Roshan or Shah Rukh Khan – who will win the box office war on Republic Day 2017?
Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees has been making news for some time now. Earlier the movie was in buzz for its most anticipated clash with Salman Khan’s Sultan. Ever since the release dates of both the films were out, speculations about the actor’s planning to postpone the dates started making rounds. However, neither of the two confirmed the reports. Fans were keenly waiting for the infamous clash of the two Khans at the box office and wanted to see who wins the war.
But now it looks like Shah Rukh Khan has changed his mind and has finally decided to shift the film’s release to next year. Yes, SRK & the team of Raees gave a joint statement confirming the news. Accordingly, Raees will release on January 2017, instead of Eid 2016.
Bollywoodlife.com has reported the Raees team saying, “It was not an easy decision to move the film. We understand that ‘Raees’ is highly anticipated. However, a film of such magnitude requires the appropriate showcasing and therefore, we have decided to shift our release date to 25th January 2017. As we already know, this year is packed with a lot of releases by a lot of A-Listers so the movie-goers are in for a treat. However, learning that SRK’s film directed by Rahul Dholakia is going to be a cinematic bliss as well, it would be unfair for the film to clash with others this year. With Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan etc taking away all the holiday weekends, finding a befitting date for Raees did become a challenge.”
So now as per the new schedule, Raees will release with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil. The first look of the upcoming Sanjay Gupta film was released on Wednesday and had caught a lot of attention. Hrithik’s intense green eyes look intriguing and left several unanswered questions. Everyone is keenly looking forward for the release of the film, which will only happen in 2017.
Yami Gautam happens to play the female lead in Kaabil. News has it that Hrithik and Yami play the roles of blind lovers in the film. It is also being said that Yami’s character dies in the film and Hrithik is set of to take revenge for the same. However, we will have to maintain patience to see how a blind man succeeds in his plans till Republic Day of 2017.
